Well, John’s Knight Out did exactly as he pleased again. He was in the 9th race at Albuquerque on Sunday. He refused to run. He was the 11th horse out of the gate. No wonder, I had teasingly told our trainer that if we could get John’s Knight Out to win that race, I had a prospective buyer in mind for him and we might get a good price. Well, I guess John’s Knight Out must have heard me and he just wanted to stay with us. The discouraging thing about this horse is that he can run really fast but only when he’s in the right frame of time. I guess he needs a Horse Psychiatrist or something similar. I plan to have a long talk with him as soon as he returns to Turf Paradise.
We have another entry on Friday. Elusive Moment will be running in a good spot for him. His last race, he was slow out of the gate. He is running in a short race so a fast start is essential.
We have had difficulties racing in Albuquerque. For some reason, our horses don’t take well to that track. The track is deep and I think that’s part of the problem. We will also run Tonight at Eleven and Berry Valid at Albuquerque. Tonight at Eleven is bred for turf. He is the son of Thunder Gulch. I am hoping his bloodlines may help us this year. Berry Valid ran well at Albuquerque last year, so I am hoping that in the right spot she may just “save the day”.
We just can’t stop trying. That’s the only path to success. So, we’ll take a deep breathe and hope for the best — Can’t stop now!
