Ocotillo -- 2-year old gelding

Ocotillo — 2-year old gelding

Hi! It’s me again, Ocotillo. In case you don’t know me, I am a 2-year old gelding in Drew Fulmer’s barn at Turf Paradise.

I won my first race on November 19th. If you read the previous post, you can get the whole story. But briefly, I can say it was an exciting experience for me. I felt like an instant celebrity. My picture was taken with my jockey Jorge Carreno. Jorge is currently the leading jockey at Turf Paradise and he really helped me win that race. Of course I did my part. I followed all the instructions that my trainer and friend Drew Fulmer taught me.

When I got back to the barn, all my stable mates cheered for me. It was a great day and I proved myself to be a valuable part of the Fulmer Racing Team.

But, the real point of this post is to introduce my most cherished fan. Her name is Scarlet. Her grandpa is my trainer, Drew Fulmer. Scarlet and I have a lot in common. We are both 2 years old. We are both very cute and intelligent. And most of all, we are dearly loved by her grandpa, Drew Fulmer. Of course, I realize that he loves Scarlet more than me, but I am just a horse and she is a beautiful child. Scarlet loves horses. I am so proud that she really loves me too. It definitely is my pleasure to present her to you and you can judge for yourself just how cute she is. Here’s a picture of my best fan and new friend, Scarlet.

I recently learned that Scarlet watched my winning race replay with her grandpa. She cheered for me and she knows my name and can pronounce it perfectly. The equine world should be proud and pleased to know that it has this wonderful child named Scarlet who loves horses.
