We’re ready to get started again and have three races to look forward to. On Sunday, our beauty queen Berry Valid will be racing in race 5 – 5F on the dirt. Our trainer Drew Fulmer says she is in great shape and has been working good. She worked out 3F at 35.2. Berry Valid is an outstanding race horse, but only runs when she wants to. It is difficult to predict how she will be feeling, but we can hope for the best. Her jockey is Jorge Martin Bourdieu. Bourdieu is a seasoned jockey, who started in 1996. He is a multiple graded stakes winning jockey. Berry Valid can be temperamental, but if she is ridden with patience and kept calm, she is a fabulous closer. We look forward to Berry Valid and Jorge Martin Bourdieu being a winning combination.
On Tuesday, November 12th, we have two starters. Race 6 will feature Pursuxit. He is our mile racer so this is his kind of race. His jockey will be Jorge Correno. Jorge Correno was ranked 53rd by wins in 2012 and has been racing since 2002. He is a favored jockey at Turf Paradise. Our trainer, Drew Fulmer made a wise choice in selecting Jorge Correno to ride one of my favorites Pursuxit. Pursuxit likes to be close to the lead and he can surely go the distance.
Our other entry for Tuesday is John’s Knight Out. John’s Knight Out is our errant teenager. He is extremely intelligent but often is bored by the racing event and must be kept focused. The jockey in charge of handling John’s Knight Out is Wilson Omar Diequez. Wilson is an extremely accomplished rider who knows how to ride hard. He is a multiple stakes winning jockey and has been a jockey since 1997. Our trainer, Drew Fulmer has once again made an excellent choice in pairing Wilson Dieguez with John’s Knight Out. We hope they can prove to be a winning combination.
Although we have had a slow start this meet, I must say that we are doing everything right. Our horses are in excellent shape and outstanding health. To me, this is the key to a winning team. Our trainer, Drew Fulmer has diligently worked with the horses to get them ready. Our only setbacks have been race selection and jockey error. But as every trainer knows, winning goes in cycles and our winning cycle has yet to start, but we’re getting close. Keep your fingers crossed for us and cheer us on to victory.
